48% of US businesses (2 to 20 employees) have lost data. Top causes were hardware/software failure, accidental deletion, virus attack and theft of equipment. 31% of business owners felt backing up company data is a hassle.
Backup the essential data. OS can be restored from distribution medium. Backup should be done to more than 1 place or medium and, depending upon data generation,… daily to weekly.
Backup of company email, databases and application data should have redundancy. Process should be automated and a copy kept offsite.
Periodically review backup strategy, monitor the process and make sure there’s enough space for backup.
